Sophomore, Angela Bardwell-Owens, is an engaged student in the Seneff Honors College and is enrolled in the Undergraduate Research Track at Valencia College.  She is the President of the East Campus Student Research Community which is a campus organization directed at helping research-minded students gain knowledge about opportunities in the research areas of their chosen discipline.  In addition, she is also an active member of several Valencia organizations, including the Honors Student Advisory Committee, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the Psychology Club.  The Independent Studies program at Valencia provides her the opportunity to delve into research as a research assistant at the University of Central Florida. Her major is Psychology and she is planning on directing her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Human Factors.  Outside of academia, Angela enjoys traveling domestically and internationally, growing edible plants, and attending educational events.

My name is Maria Barrera, and I am a junior at the University of Central Florida.
I am majoring in Psychology, and I aspire to attend graduate school to focus more on clinical studies. I am currently a research assistant, and I hope to gain valuable experience that I can apply toward future research in the area of substance abuse, in which I have a particular interest.

Jacquelyn Cook CV
Jacquelyn Cook is currently a senior pursuing her B.S. in Psychology. She has been a part of the RCTA Human-Robot Trust Project in the MIT2 lab since Spring 2011. While at the lab, Jacquelyn has collected research for a meta analysis and has performed various other tasks related to human interpersonal trust and human-animal trust. Her primary research interests include leadership, human factors and industrial/organizational psychology. Jacquelyn plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology after her career as an undergraduate at UCF. In her free time, Jacquelyn enjoys playing video games and writing.

Emily Edwards CV
Emily is a current senior majoring in psychology and minoring in crime, law and deviance. She was born and raised in the Orlando area and plans on attending graduate school beginning Fall, 2013 in clinical psychology, focusing on treatment development and evaluation for correctional facilities. Emily is especially interested in the potential for technology to be incorporated into treatment initiatives. Throughout her time with MIT2, she has been involved in a number of studies examining human-robot interaction, especially variables related to increasing and maintaining trust in robotics during military tasks.

Theresa is a 2001 graduate of Nicholls State University with a B.S. in Marketing. She is currently working on her B.S. in Psychology and will pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology after graduation. She has been involved in the MIT2 lab since February of 2013. Her primary area of interest is in Health Psychology dealing with interactions between healthy living and psychological functioning.

My name is Petal LaBorde and I am an undergraduate student at UCF currently pursuing a B.S. Psychology and a B.A. in English Literature. I plan to gradute in the summer of 2013 and to then pursue a PhD in psychology. I have been a research assistant with MIT2 since spring 2011. Keith is an undergraduate student at UCF, pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Crime, Law, and Deviance, and a certificate in Behavioral Forensics and honors in the major. Keith joined the MIT2 Lab in the Spring of 2013, assisting in website administration and technological advancements. His interests in research and academia include cognitive psychology, deception detection, and human factors. Keith intends to further his education after graduation by seeking a Ph.D. in Psychology.

Hello! I’m Rebecca McKeogh and I’m a second year undergraduate student working on my B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Biology. I’m incredibly interested in Physiological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Neuroscience. I plan on continuing my research into grad school and hopefully one day attaining a Ph.D in whichever subsection of Psychology that suits my fancy. When I’m not studying, even though it’s rare, I spend my time covering 80′s music with my band and being a caring mother to my bearded dragon, Leopold.

Wissam “Sam” Nahlous is currently a senior at the University of Central Florida finishing his B.S. in psychology, all the while taking all necessary pre-med classes, to fulfill his aspiration of getting into medical school. Ultimately, he would like to land a psychiatry or a neurology residency, so he can work with mental disorders. He joined the MIT2 Lab in Summer of 2012. Has been working on gathering literature on varied aspects of Human Performance under the guidance of Jurate Liutvinskaite M.S. Sam strives to gain diverse research experience. He speaks English, Arabic, well versed in French, and is currently learning German during his leisure time. Sam works part-time as a psychiatric technician at the Psychiatric Medical Unit at the Florida Hospital.

My name is Elisabeth Niederman and I am a Psychology student here at UCF. I plan on graduating in 2013, and then earning my Ph.D. in either Human Factors or Cognitive Psychology. Augmented Cognition and Physiological Psychology are my main interests in Psychology. Once I’ve graduated with my doctorate, I hope to become a full-time researcher, either in the private sector or at a major university. I want to change the world.

Jessica is in her third year as an undergraduate at UCF, pursuing a B.S. in Psychology and minors in Cinema Studies,Cognitive Science, and Statistics. She is completing her undergraduate Honor’s thesis under the supervision of Dr. Peter Hancock, and she is also a research assistant in the ACAT lab. Her academic interests include cognitive psychology, physiological psychology, and neuroscience; after graduating she plans on going on to a graduate program in cognitive psychology, behavioral/cognitive neuroscience, or human factors. Outside of academia she enjoys making puns, sneaking food into the movie theater, and paying with exact change.
